Letter From the President

Hello Auburn Band Parents,

We are approaching time for the Fall Supper Concert and we are looking forward to seeing how our students have progressed thus far this year. The Supper Concert will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The Fall Supper Concert will be held in the Auburn High School Auditorium beginning at 5 p.m. with the AJHS Jazz Band performing in the cafeteria, followed at 5:30 by the Drake Middle School Band, the AJHS Concert Band, The AJHS Symphonic Band, the AJHS Honors Band, the AHS Symphonic Band, and the AHS Honors Band at approximately 30-minute intervals in the auditorium.

We will be serving our BBQ dinner as we have in years past at a cost of $7.50 each. Tickets will be sold at the concert and we invite everyone to stay for dinner.

As always, professionally recorded CD's and DVD's of the performances will be made and are available for sale at the concert. We ask that you order the night of the concert due to time restrictions and the approach of the Holidays. Order forms for CD'S and DVD's will be available at the audio/visual table at the concert. The musical recordings make a great gift for grandparents and other relatives interested in your child. In addition, we are offering a marching band DVD that may also be ordered at the concert. You may look on the audiovisual order table for additional forms to order both of these. Recordings will be delivered to your child by his/her respective Band Director.

Thank you to all the parents who have signed up to serve in the concession stand at home football games. Our football team did very well this year and so have our concession stand sales. We appreciate your helping when needed.

There is always a need for parents who are willing to act as ushers during the concert, to help serve the meal, and for cleanup after the concert. The holidays make fall a busy time, but please consider signing up to help online or when a Concert Team member calls. We plan to send out reminder emails to those signing up about a week prior to the concert.

We are continuing our Membership drive as well, and would like to extend another invitation for you to join us in supporting the band programs. As always, we encourage all band parents to join the Auburn Band Parents Association. Your donation is tax deductible. We have set up an online donation location. You can join the ABPA at our membership page. Donations will be accepted the night of the concert or you can mail your donation to ABPA P O Box 1965, Auburn, Al. 36831-1965. Please remember all your donations are tax deductible and 100% of the funds go to help with equipment purchases, uniforms, etc., at all three Auburn Band Programs.

To those parents who have joined, all of us in the ABPA, the Auburn Band Directors, and the Auburn Band Students wish to thank you for making the Auburn Band Program so great.
